Our Mission: The Union County Historical Society shall preserve the heritage of Union County for present and future generations by encouraging membership and community involvement in historic preservation, research, education, and teaching.

Tour Our Museum and Library

Search your ancestors in our genealogical library with our family history books, cemetery records, TVA records and maps, census records and much more. 

Learn about our music heritage including country music stars Roy Acuff, Carl Smith, Chet Atkins, Lois Johnson, and Kenny Chesney.

Check out our history from items and displays portraying how life was in days gone by.

The Union County Historical Society meets on the third Sunday of each Month at the Museum at 2:30 pm.  After the business part of the  meeting we have a speaker or program. Everyone is invited to join. The museum is open at 1 pm if you would like to come early and tour the Museum.
